Book Meme
I got this from Joan over at Seven Inches of Sense, her blog is one of my favorites. Thanks Joan for helping my figure this out!!
1. Total number of books I've owned - I don't think I can count that high...the majority of my books are in storage in giant banana boxes...but in my tiny little room I have two overflowing bookshelves...everything from textbooks, to kids books to classics. I would estimate the number of books I own in the thousands...I love books, as does my entire extended family...
2. Last book I bought - I'm actually kinda lame, the last book I bought was an updated EMT book...Brady came out with a newer edition than I had, so I bought it...But the book before that was the new Chuck Palahniuk book...I ordered it from Amazon.com.
3. Last book I read - I always seem to be reading two books at a time. I just, last night actually, finished Jenna Jameson's autobiography How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale and I'm finishing up American Soldier by Gen. Tommy Franks...and I don't know if it counts, but I'm always reading anything I come across in Latin so that I keep my skill up...
4. Five books that mean a lot to me -
1. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk...agree or disagree...it doesn't matter as long as you're thinking...
2. Recent Forgeries by Viggo Mortensen ...the poetry speaks to my soul and the art is freeing...
3. Bedtime For Frances by Russell Hoban...some of my best childhood memories involve this book...it is the first one I learned to read when I was three.
4. How to Know God's WIll in Your Life by Morris Venden...it's a little book...but it changed the course of my faith...I went from hoping that I was in the right by living my faith outside a box to knowing with absolute certainty that faith isn't limiting, it's freeing.
5. In the Company of Heroes by Michael Durant...it's the story of his capture and subsequent release at the hands of the Somali warlords and the bravery of the men of the U.S Special Forces.
5. Tag five people and have them do this on their blog - I don't really tag people to do things...if you feel led, go for it, I think it's cool to see what other people read...but there really isn't any obligation.
